AMM Collision Restores Car for Local Veteran

On November 11th at 8am at the Stephen F. Austin Hotel in Downtown Austin, AMM Collision will present Sergeant First Class Rodney Lewis with a fully restored 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix.

George Pojas, manager of AMM Collision on Manchaca Rd, took the lead on the project overseeing the repairs from beginning to end. Several technicians at AMM Collision donated their time to restore the car including teams led by Dominique Loyola and Dominic Olivares. A very special thank you to our employees Adan Garcia, Daimon Gonzales, Rafael Silva, Eduardo Juarez, Matt Ronshausen, Jason Christians, Canaan Schaefer, Jacob Hernandez, Fabian Villegas, Al Ernst, Martin Velez, and Angel Velez for their hard work on this project.

Auto parts vendors Keystone Automotive and LKQ Corp, O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, and Capitol Chevrolet generously donated all the parts needed for the repair. Protech Electronics also generously donated to this very special effort. Sergeant Lewis served 5 tours in Afghanistan.

During his last deployment, Lewis’ girlfriend brought the car to AMM Collision to get the car running as a surprise, and just weeks after his return the engine completely blew. General Manager Scott Craig was passionate about this project, and AMM Collision made it their mission to replace the engine and completely restore the car for this incredibly deserving veteran.

AMM Collision is a locally owned, independent auto body shop that has been serving families since 1991.
