Where do I get a claim number?

Your insurance carrier will issue a claim number when you report your accident. Write down the information and bring it with you when you come in to get started on your repairs. And we’ll take care of the rest. It’s that easy. Return to top

Are you open on weekends?

We’re closed on Saturday and Sunday, but we are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and we provide 24/7 towing for Austin & Kyle (call K&S Towing at 512-291-3672), and for Dripping Springs (call Texan Towing at 512-288-8626). Return to top

Will parts be ordered before I drop off my car for repairs?

Yes. When we write the initial estimate and schedule your vehicle for drop off at one of our car auto body shops, we’ll order the necessary parts. If your vehicle is unsafe to drive, we will help arrange for a rental vehicle. This allows us to better serve you by providing quicker turnaround time. Return to top

If my vehicle’s frame is damaged, is the vehicle a total loss?

Not necessarily. A car is considered “totaled,” only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance company’s determined value of your vehicle. Today, most cars are built with unibody (frame and body, as one) construction. AMM Collision Center Austin’s highly skilled technicians, using our state-of the-art computer measuring system, can return your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If we determine that the frame section is bent beyond repair, that section may simply be replaced. Return to top

Can you match the vehicle paint color?

Your car’s paint job incorporates multiple layers of highly specialized paints. We use the finest paint system available, and continually upgrade our technology and equipment to ensure that we match each vehicle’s paint. Can I get other service work done on my vehicle while it is in the body shop?

Sure. Let your advisor know what other work you would like to have completed so he or she can make any necessary arrangements. Return to top

How long will it take to complete my vehicle’s repairs?

Just as all collisions are different, all repair schedules are different, too. Your dedicated advisor can give you an estimate of the time your vehicle will be in the car body shop and how long repairs should take. Be sure to check with your advisor for the specifics on your vehicle. Return to top

Can I get a ride to work or back home when I drop off my vehicle?

We provide pickup and delivery service for our customers. We want each customer’s visit to be a positive experience and work diligently to take the hassle out of collision repair in Austin. Return to top

How can I get a rental car?

We can help you arrange for a rental car. Just note that insurance companies only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy or if you are the claimant. You should first check your policy or call your insurance carrier to determine your rental coverage limitations. Return to top

How will I know when my vehicle is ready?

AMM Collision Center Austin gives you a couple of options here. In addition to being notified when your vehicle is ready, you are also able to check our website where you will see a message next to the last picture of your vehicle telling you that your vehicle is ready to be picked up. Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?

Will I have to pay a deductible?

What forms of payment do you accept?

What are “betterment charges?”

In collision repair, there are parts that wear out and need replacement (tires, batteries, and suspension parts) that must be replaced during the repair process. They are commonly subject to betterment charges. These betterment charges are determined by your insurance company and are pro-rated based on the miles on your vehicle. Return to top

When can I wash or detail my car?

**RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE

FIRST 30 DAYS

** DON’T · Don’t drive on gravel roads. Chipping the finish is easily done in the first 30 days. · Don’t use a commercial car wash. Stiff brushes or sponges may damage the finish. · Don’t “dry wipe” your vehicle. Dry wiping can scratch the finish. · Avoid parking under trees and utility lines which are likely to attract birds. Bird droppings will damage a freshly painted surface because of its high acid content. Also, tree sap can mar or spot a freshly painted surface. · Avoid spilling gasoline, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, or windshield solvent on the new finish. · Never scrape ice or snow from a newly painted surface. DON’T · Avoid waxing or polishing the vehicle. This will allow the finish to dry and harden completely.
